Chanel Spring Summer 2013
Chanel presented its spring summer 2013 collection during the Paris Fashion Show 2013.
Karl Lagerfeld commented on it:
“It’s more about the mood of the times, not something you have to translate. It’s all about the wind, it’s in the air. I removed everything except for the pearls.”
The collection features the raw of jackets and dresses in the classy black and white palette. The oversized clusters of pearls were hanging down the wrists and necks what added the stylish and modern feel.
Fran Burns, Vogue fashion editor, stated:
“It was fantastic, optimistic and elegant.”
Despite the large number of fashion shows during the Fashion Weeks marathon in the key vogue capitals throughout the world, Lagerfeld’s collection became the limelight.
While other fashion houses’ collections were created under the guidance of the new creative directors: Raf at Dior, Jil at Sander and Hedi at Saint Laurent, Lagerfeld one more time proved that Chanel still reigns on the fashion Olympus and still remains the mega brand.
In this spring summer 2013 Lagerfeld introduced the trendy cropped jackets, but unlike others he made an accent on volume shoulders and cocoon-inspired silhouettes along with bell-shaped sleeves.
The volume effect is also met in dresses with trapeze silhouettes. The collection also features the columns with bead blooms and largescale hats with edges and striped.
Lagerfeld said about the collection:
“I started sketching in Central Park and it was so hot that I wanted fresh air.”
