Marchesa Ready-To-Wear Spring Summer 2013
While we are used to the clear gradation of the fashion brands where ones are intended for the upper social class while others are directed on lower ones, Marchesa doesn’t belong to any. Garments from the spring summer 2013 ready-to-wear collection by Marchesa is the embodiment of any girl’s dream look, the personification of the magic princess that jumped from the fairytale pages into the reality.
For this coming season, Marchesa designers found the main source of inspiration in Indian culture, just like Vera Wang. But unlike Verqa, Craig and Chapman created the collection of garments where the clear influence of the India is seen: ornate embroidered jewels, sparkling fabrics in the light green or bright red.
Oscillating tassels made from the gild fabrics is the signature element of this collection. As for the tailoring, each item is perfectly crafted, as usual.
When we talk about the silhouettes, this time designers didn’t pay as much attention to the fanciful shapes as they used to by keeping all the lines close to body’s natural curves. The collection is distinguished with rich draping that similar to that of the traditional sari.
As usual, this collection could be hardly called commercial, but one just won’t be able to take the eyes off it.
