Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2013
This fall winter 2013 Tommy Hilfiger women’s collection appeared to be similar to the previous brand’s creations, which is expressed through the preppy school girl aesthetics in the brand’s signature interpretation, though some mainstream tendencies still influenced this fall collection and added the contemporary feel to the clothing.
Not new to the New York fashion week (NYFW) catwalk, the brand demonstrated the women’s collection where the masculine style turned feminine. In the result we get the perfectly fitting garments with the British conservative tailoring.
Distinct subtle interpretations of the glen plaids and houndstooth checks served as a base for the clean cut and minimalistic designs of the first part of the collection. Everything starting from the gorgeous double-breasted coats to the short suits featured the traditional patterns.
The second part of the collection had the more contemporary vibe, a bit youthful and slightly edgy, still delivering the minimalistic British essence. My favorite in this women’s collection is the black leather dress with knit embossment, which offer the true futuristic feel with no intention of looking back.
