Is There A Stylish Way To Wear This Spring 2016 Trend?

Share |

Apparently vests are back, especially their sweater variety. This seemingly awkward trend can be hard to pull off if you’re a grown up but it’s not impossible. Designers went for oversize styles and paired them up with flying skirts and trendy culotte pants.

How To Wear Sweater Vests This Spring

While Marc Jacobs offers to be playful and flirty in your sweater vest pairing it up with puffy sleeve blouses and printed pencil skirts or leather pants, designers like Miuccia Prada and Tory Burch think along neutral colors and simple lines as opposed to prints.

Honestly, a sweater vest can look ridiculous as well as it can look pretty cool. I really love this first Marc Jacobs look (perhaps only skirt is slightly off) but the idea is amazing. There’s a touch of femininity in those sleeves and a skirt silhouette but the masculine vest and a black tie make it more fresh and unexpected.

I’ve been trying to find celebs in vests but they don’t seem to favor them (who does?). Although Victorian Beckham has two (!) looks you can learn from. The one with Louis Vuitton vest is more classy, while the oversize ribbed style looks very modern with a plain white shirt.

What do you think about this controversial trend? Will you be trying it this spring?
