Spring 2013 Trend: Structural Shoes

One of the Spring 2013 shoe trends is an exiciting architectural shoe trend. Jen Kao designed the wooden wedges while Rodarte conceived structural coloruful futuristic kicks. At Givenchy the models also sported interesting shoes with transparent parts and a narrowing heel. While the structural shoes are not a new thing in fashion they certainly become more and more accessible.

At Fendi (top pic), the shoes were contructed of layers of material featuring an open toe and a pyramid-covered heels. Some other designers’ shoes featured square-shaped heels or unconventional heels of unusual shapes.

The structured shoes with layered heels, multiple strips of materials, and otherworldly heels can be found not only in designer collections but also in high-steet and mid-end brands’ assortment.

The outlandish or simply unconventional shoes are a great way to add another touch to one’s quirky style. It’s also a good way to jazz up one’s casual outfit. Accessories are getting more and more constructional like certain designer clothes.

It is a new way to show off your style or play with shapes and lines to create a unqiue look. You don’t even have to wear kooky clothes to pull that off. At Fendi models wore well-tailored clothes with those structural kicks accessorized with odd-shaped glasses and bags.
