Kate Young Designed Collection for Target
Being named the fourth most powerful celebrity stylist yesterday, today she designs the clothes herself for Target. It is a widely known fact that Kate Young knows how to make you look like a real star. In the past Young’s original taste with the hints of the vintage and glamour raised her to the status of the one of the best stylists in Hollywood: Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams were among other celebrity clients, who used to work with Young.
Well, thanks to Target, the average women are able to experience the Young’s excellent taste as she debuted with her capsule collection for Target, following Jason Wu, Missoni and Prabal Gurung, which had created the sought-after collections for the retailer.
Young on collaboration:
I wanted to bring some of the magic that you see on the red carpet to real women. The main focus was to create something affordable and accessible.
Young brought her unique sense of style to the range of the thirty eight sets that are priced between $29.99 to $89.99. The collection included the playful party dresses, elegant separates, clutches for the evening wear and some jewellery pieces. Array of Young’s clothing included the Alaïa-inspired dress from tech jersey, satin peplum ensemble, tuxedo-like jumpsuit. Besides, the collection features some Young’s signature elements like the Peter Pen collars, romantic floral prints and polka-dot bodysuits.
With the range of the red carpet events being in full swing, who knows maybe we will see some A-list celebrities wearing a gown by Young, just like Helen Hunt wore H&M dress at Oscars 2013.
Kate on the collection:
Maybe I’ll put my clients in one of the looks. It’s not about the money. Wearing a designer collaboration for Target is something everybody does. If the design is good, that’s all that matters.
The collection will be available for sale starting April 14.
